Welcome to Amahle Rhodesian Ridgebacks.

Our names are Brian and Mandy Maidment and we would like to share with you our love and enthusiasm for this wonderful breed. We live in West Sussex with our beautiful Ridgebacks Kamie and Rufus. Brian first discovered this distinquished breed around 10 years ago. We decided we would like a larger dog in the family and after much research and with the lasting impression Rhodesian Ridgebacks had left with Brian they were clearly the breed for us. So our journey began to find the puppy that would join us and our children in the family home.

With many questions and alot of enthusiasm we went in search and on the 21st May 2004 our dear Kamie was born in Edinburgh, bred by Liz Hamilton of Glenorin kennels. Kamie is such a beautiful dog so we decided to try her out in the show ring, both myself and Brian complete novices and we were absolutely overwhelmed when Kamie took 1st in her puppy class at the Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Association championship show in May 2005, meaning a qualification also for Crufts the following year.

In October 2006 we brought young Rufus home, he too had quite a journey from Herefordshire where he was bred by Rachel Tredwell and Wayne Symonds of Shombay kennels. A handsome young dog our Rufus who has also qualified for Crufts 2008 along with Kamie. Both our Ridgebacks have brought us much joy and satisfaction. Kamie and Rufus have an excellent temperament and are loyal and loving companions. Myself, Brian and the Ridgebacks are members of the Southern Rhodesian Ridgeback Club and the Ridgeback Club of Great Britain.
